Goodbye?

Goodbye?

This journey through distant lands and seas
Has lead me to believe that the love I seek
Can no longer be found in heart of the woman I once believed in

For years we tried
To find our ways
Through rebellious paths
Through fun and games
Yet the light that shines above us beckons for more
So we’ve approached the door
Of personal, spiritual, emotional growth
One soul is ready to go through
Whereas the other is stuck between the two

I wish I could wait
I wish I had patience
I wish I could take you with me to the other side
But the choice is yours
And only yours
To seek what is beyond this physical form.

But her eyes are closed.
Her heart is sealed.
Her lips are frozen
And her hands are cold.
She runs through the gate on the other side boldly
To return to the world she
Has known all along.

As I watch her leave
Rain falls on my cheeks
A wipe with a sleeve
Then I tear a leaf out
Of this journal, grab a pen,
Clear my mind and begin

And so I write:

This journey through distant lands and seas
Has lead me to believe that the love I seek
Can no longer be found in heart of the woman

 I once believed in.

The Boat

The Boat

This boat sails
On the rivers of light
Leading towards our final destination
The wind in my sails
Carries me through laughter and joy
Sadness and pain
Beyond the physical plane
With much spiritual gain
And as the sun rises
Upon the dawn of a new day
I pull into half sail
And drift slowly to the bay
The flags are raised high
I've arrived home
The vessel shining in the sunlight
Following the compass of my heart all along.
