Man's Best Friend
Man's Best Friend
The collar bell tinkles
As he steps in the home
His eyes start to sparkle
He’s never alone
A new found friend
In this life and therein
One to call loved
In this home I'm with him
The beginning
Summer days are long
As the winding path takes us
To rivers beyond
He follows with deep trust
He needs no bone
For reward or a treat
Just a happy home
And his own place to eat
During winter we shiver
Yet his fur keeps me
From being weak
And we smile in the spring
For we've broken through the cold
And stepped out onto the other side
His face looking old
It seems like time moves so fast on this Earth
But in reality the Earth is slowly spinning in place
It is us who run so fast on this Earth
And our days draw so near
For we've enjoyed the years
Now his fur, quite dusty
Yet his eyes still shine
My skins become rusty
But my smile won’t decline
Dog is truly a man’s best friend
Together till the end
Of our journey through time.
