October 4th

I need to find a way
To clear the smoke
That’s filled up my mind

It’s been 4 years now
Since I first met you
And loved that smile

But now this pain
Won’t let me go
It hurts each time

I try to find the words to say
But I can’t seem
To let it die

It’s all because I saw in you
What you can’t see
This shining light

But faith it has
Its complicity
To make us both blind

And so I walk..
I walked away
But you ran
You ran from me

And I can’t seem to get this image
Out of my mind
Where we both lived so carefree
And drifted through time

The age it shows upon our faces
We both waste time
Chasing…chasing
A dream that could have been
A love lost in between
